`Quid latine dictum sit, altum viditur.' (Non sapio, quis hoc
dixit, sed citatum est in sigillo Juliani Andersoni <jules@comp.vuw.ac.nz>.)
`Domine, defende nos / Contra hos motores bos!' - A. D. Godley
I was a linguistics major in college, partly because I was interested
in it intrinsically, and partly because it let me take lots of
languages and count them towards my major. I studied syntax, historical
linguistics, and phonetics. I'm particularly interested in Slavic
and Romance languages and Old English.
