More of my wildflowers and Mare, September 2007

In the summer of 2007, my girlfriend Mare ordered a wildflower mix from American Meadows to plant in her front lawn, and I was inspired to do the same. My flowers were much slower to bloom than hers were, but they got much taller. Most of what actually took root was cosmos and coreopsis.

The last two pictures are of Mare herself kneeling behind some of the plants, and give you a sense of scale. The plants are even taller, now! (As I type this it's the beginning of November, and they show no sign of slowing down. Some are taller than I am standing, and they have fresh blooms and buds on them.)

The camera is a Canon PowerShot S410.

My lovely girlfriend Mare with cosmos plants. For scale; she's kneeling behind the plants. The one that's taller than her kneeling head was *not* the tallest one at the time. Now, a month and a half later, at the beginning of freakin' NOVEMBER in New England, there are a couple plants that are taller than I am, standing. And they have fresh blossoms and new buds on them. Global warming, or just divine intervention?
