BiCamp 2004, 2004.07.29-2004.08.02

These pictures (and some video down at the bottom) are from the BiCamp 2004. BiCamp is an annual camping event in northwestern Massachusetts for bi people and their friends and allies. (You don’t have to be bi to attend, just bi-friendly. We have regular attendees from both extremes of the Kinsey scale.) Because of the location, BiCampers tend to be from the US Northeast and eastern Canada, but we have regular attendees from Seattle and Honolulu. There are sizable contingents from Québec, Pennsylvania, and DC.

(There’s also an annual BiCamp Québec, also known as Camp Bi. I believe it’s near Montréal. If you know of any other BiCamps, please drop me email and let me know.)

NOTE: These pictures are licensed under one of two different licenses, as noted in the captions. The ones with no people in them are licensed under a Creative Commons license that says you can copy, share, and modify them for noncommercial purposes only, provided you give me credit (details in English and in Legalese). Any pictures that have recognizable people in them are not licensed under a Creative Commons license, and may not be redistributed for any purpose without the explicit permission of all people depicted.

I am, of course, not putting people’s pictures on the web without their permission. If I took your picture at BiCamp and you don’t mind if I put it up here, please let me know I have your permission. I’d love to have pictures with people here to capture more of the flavour of BiCamp.

The camera is a Canon PowerShot S410. Some of these pictures are available in various sizes.

On Saturday night there’s a big potluck. Afterwards, people gather around a bonfire and sing songs. (Some years there’s also drumming, but that didn’t happen this year.) This was the bonfire shortly after nightfall.

The day after T. set up her pavillion, I noticed that a spider had made a particularly lovely web in it. You’ll probably want to look at the highest-resolution versions of these pictures; the web doesn't come out as well in the reduced ones.
