Our dog Kodi in the back yard, 1999.11.06

On 2 October 1999, my household brought home a gorgeous, independent, sweet-tempered 2½-year-old male Shiba Inu from the Buddy Dog Humane Society (http://www.buddydoghs.com/).

Kodi loves being outdoors, and particularly likes a pile of dirt we have left over from putting in a pool. He's going to miss being king of the hill when the dirt pile goes away. :-)

This picture captures some of Kodi's personality - he's always looking around, always interested in what's going on around him, and like a cat, he often finds things fascinating that humans can't see.

Kodi likes this dirt pile (which is the result of digging the hole for our pool); he's going to miss it when it goes away.

Kodi is king of the hill on his dirt pile. The odd way he sits is because one of his legs was injured in a car accident. He seems perfectly comfortable, but he can't bend that ankle joint.
